Frank Weber (born June 3, 1969 in Dieburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He was a member of the Thuringian State Parliament from 2009 to 2014 .

Life

Frank Weber completed an apprenticeship as a chimney sweep from 1985 to 1988 and passed the master's examination in the chimney sweep trade in 1992 . Since 1997 he has been the federal chairman of the Central Association of German Chimney Sweepers. V. Weber was elected President of the International Chimney Sweepers Union (ICU) in 2001, and he was vice-president from 1997 to 2001. In 2002 Weber became regional chairman of the working group for employee issues of the Thuringian SPD and a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Thuringia . In 2004 he ran for the state election in the constituency of Weimarer Land II , but was unable to prevail against Christine Lieberknecht . In the state elections in 2009, he lost to Christian Carius in the Sömmerda II constituency .

On November 11, 2009 Weber replaced Hartmut Schubert , who was appointed State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Social Affairs , in the newly elected state parliament. After the state elections in 2014 , he left the state parliament because neither his first vote result in his constituency, where he was again defeated by Christian Carius, nor his 24th place on the SPD state list was sufficient for re-election.

Other offices

Weber is a delegate from the European Public Service Union (EPSU). He is also a member of the plenary assembly of the Erfurt Chamber of Crafts and an honorary judge at the Gotha Social Court and Erfurt Labor Court .
