Frank Williams (architect)

Frank Edward Williams (born December 14, 1936 in Ashburn , Georgia , † February 25, 2010 in New York City ) was an American architect .

Life

Frank Edward Williams was the son of an engineer and a paralegal. He had five siblings. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in architecture in 1961 and then studied at Harvard University for four more years . Before founding his own architecture office with Frank Williams and Partners Architects , he taught architecture at Columbia University for four more years . In a career spanning more than four decades, he designed 20 skyscrapers in New York City and 16 other high-rises in cities such as Hong Kong , Moscow , Seoul , Shanghai and Taipei .

Williams died on February 25, 2010 at the age of 73 of complications from his esophageal cancer .
