The Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 were an American horror punk music group.

Band history

The Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 were founded in 1996 by Wednesday 13 , Seaweed and Sicko Zero in North Carolina . All three band members previously played together in the group Maniac Spider Trash , which existed from 1992 to 1996. However, singer Wednesday 13 should remain the only member who continuously belonged to the group.

The debut album “The Late, Late, Late Show” was produced in a very short time in 1996. Typically for the genre, it deals with murder and manslaughter, horror B-movie trash, and monsters like werewolves in a humorous way. At the end of 1998 Seaweed was expelled from the group and then replaced by Rat Bastard on bass. Sicko Zero then voluntarily left the band, which brought them to a standstill. In 1997 Seaweed returned to the Frankenstein Drag Queens and brought two other musicians into the formation, who only stayed for a few weeks. The near future always brought further changes of members and arguments about what should stay that way until the end of the group.

In 1997 a self-titled EP and in 1998 the second album "Night of the Living Drag Queens" were released. In 1999 the third album "Songs From the Recently Deceased" was recorded, which deals with horror subjects more than ever. From 2000, thanks to a tour and the record company People Like You Records, the band's popularity rose in Europe. In the spring of 2002 the Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 played their last concert in Atlanta .

After the breakup, the front man Wednesday 13 decided to sing in the band The Rejects founded by Joey Jordison , later renamed Murderdolls . Much of the material from the Murderdolls consisted of newly recorded and slightly changed versions of songs by the Frankenstein Drag Queens , which led to a dispute with the other members of the old group. With The Graveyard Boulevard , other former members of the Frankenstein Drag Queens also founded a new horror punk band .

In 2004, however, Wednesday 13 and some other former band members of the Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 decided to temporarily revive the group. The first concert took place with the reunited drag queens on August 20, 2005 in Greensboro , North Carolina. However, due to a dispute over record income, the band broke up again and this time for good.
