Frankie Gomez (born February 4, 1992 in Lincoln Heights , Los Angeles , California ) is an American boxer . Vice world champion 2009 light welterweight.

Amateur career

Career

Frankie Gomez, who is based in East Los Angeles, started boxing when he was six. He proved to be extremely talented and joined the boxing club LAPD PAL Los Angeles . There he is trained by Ronnie Rivota.

As an American Junior Champion (Cadets) he was used in 2007 at the Junior World Championship (Cadets = age group up to the age of 16) in Baku . He beat his four opponents there in the weight class up to 54 kg body weight, in the final he defeated the Azerbaijani Elvin Aliyev on points and thus became Junior World Champion .

In the period that followed, it was carefully built up by the US Boxing Association. He had his next important start in 2009 at the US Seniors Championship, in which he participated despite his only 17 years. In 2010 Frankie Gomez became a professional boxer. Its manager is Hector Ibarra.
