Franklin Cover

Franklin Edward Cover (born November 20, 1928 in Cleveland , Ohio , † February 5, 2006 in Englewood , New Jersey ) was an American actor, who mainly for the role of the white neighbor "Tom Willis" in the sitcom The Jeffersons got known.

Life

Franklin Cover started his career with Shakespeare's Hamlet and Henry IV. He later appeared in many Broadway productions such as "Any Wednesday," "Wild Honey and" Born Yesterday. Cover was in show business for nearly 60 years. He was Involved in numerous television shows, but most famous for starring "Tom Willis" in the sitcom The Jeffersons .

Cover died of complications from pneumonia at the Lillian Booth Actor's Fund of America Home in Englewood, NJ, where he had been since December 2005 after heart surgery. He leaves behind his wife Mary and two children.
