Franklin Township is one of 16 townships of Brown County in the US state of Ohio . According to the census in 2000 , 1596 inhabitants were registered here.

geography

Franklin Township is near the geographic center of Brown County in southwest Ohio, about 17 km to the south from the Ohio River , which forms the natural border with Kentucky , and is bordered clockwise by the townships: Washington Township , Eagle Township , Jackson Township , Jefferson Township , Pleasant Township, and Scott Township .

administration

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before. The term of office usually lasts four years and begins on January 1st. There is also a township clerk (secretary), who is also elected for a four-year term in the year before the presidential election. His term of office begins on April 1st.
