Frans-Albert Vaksal Schartau (born July 13, 1877 in Kristianstad , † June 6, 1943 in Kävlinge ) was a Swedish sports shooter .

successes

Frans-Albert Schartau took part in the Olympic Games in London in 1908 and in Stockholm in 1912 . With the free pistol he placed himself in the individual and with the team in the midfield in 1908, as well as with the small bore rifle on the moving and the disappearing target. In the team competition with the small bore rifle in the prone position, he secured the silver medal when he scored 737 points together with Vilhelm Carlberg , Eric Carlberg and Johan Huebner von Holst , finishing second behind Great Britain and ahead of France. At the 1912 games, he only competed with the dueling pistol over 30 m and finished in 18th place.

Schartau was a captain in the Göta livgarde , an infantry regiment of the Swedish Army .
