František Josef Dusík

František Josef Dusík ( Franz Josef Dussek, also Franz Benedikt Dussek; born March 22, 1765 in Tschaslau , † after 1816 in Parakeet , Littai district , Carniola ) was a musician and composer from Bohemia .

Career

The younger brother of Johann Ludwig / Jan Ladislav Dussek , son of the musician Johann Josef Dussek (1783-1818), was initially a student of his father and received musical training as an organist in Prague . He worked as a répétiteur and concert master at the Teatro San Benedetto in Venice and from 1786 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan . In 1798 he became military bandmaster in Venice, 1790 organist and music teacher and 1806 cathedral bandmaster in Laibach ( Ljubljana ). He composed several comic operas , the oratorio Gerusaleme distrutta, masses , symphonies , serenades , piano sonatas and string quartets .
