Franz-Josef Hungs

Franz Josef Hungs (born November 11, 1932 in Düsseldorf , † October 28, 2007 in Murnau am Staffelsee ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian , educator and university lecturer.

Life

In 1959, Hungs was ordained a priest in Cologne. In 1971 he received his doctorate in practical theology in Bonn . From 1972 he taught in Munich at the Institute for Catechetics and Homiletics , from 1973 as a full-time lecturer in adult education. His habilitation in adult education followed in 1979 in Vienna. From 1984 to 2000 he taught at the Catholic Foundation University in Munich as a professor for adult education, theology and ethics.

From 1984 to 2000 he was also a diocesan minister in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising , and from 1973 until his death he led a Bible study group in the parish of St. Magdalena Ottobrunn and worked in pastoral care in the parishes of Ottobrunn and Hohenbrunn.

He was buried in the cemetery in Hohenbrunn.
