Franz-Josef Trouvain
Franz-Josef Trouvain (born August 17, 1926 - † June 20, 2017 ) was a German economist . Trouvain was chief economist at Deutsche Bank AG from 1971 to 1989.
Life
Trouvain studied law and economics at the Philipps University of Marburg after serving in the air force and being a Soviet prisoner of war . In 1957, with a thesis on the Capital Market Promotion Act, he became a Dr. rer. pole. PhD .
Franz-Josef Trouvain worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt am Main , initially as assistant to Hermann Josef Abs , later in the economic department of Deutsche Bank; from 1971 its chief economist. For many years he was chairman of the economic advisory councils of the Federation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) and the Federation of German Banks (BdB) . He was also involved as a political advisor, including in Hungary, on the reform of the banking system. In 1990 he retired and was succeeded by Norbert Walter at the bank .
Since 1950 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Palatia Marburg in the CV .
