Franz-Josef Wagner (activist)
Franz-Josef Wagner (* 3. June 1955 in Mandern ) is a German psychiatry experienced - activist .
Life
Wagner studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences from 1976 to 1980 and economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne from 1981 to 1985 . He was married from 1984 to 1991 and has two children from this marriage.
He has had a psychiatric experience since 1989. From 1996 to 2012 he was a board member of the Federal Association of Psychiatric Experienced Persons . Since 1998, Wagner has been the first chairman of the state association of people with psychiatry experience in Rhineland-Palatinate (LVPE RLP) and second chairman of the Trier City Psychiatry Council . Since 2000 he has been making public appearances with lectures and publications on self-help, recovery, empowerment, etc. for mentally ill people and has worked on projects of the Aktion Mentally Ill . In 2006 he also became a board member of the Federal Association of Community Psychiatry Associations and in 2012 an advisory board of the Federal Association of Independent Welfare Care . Wagner has been working as a peer consultant at the Rheinhessen specialist clinic in Alzey since October 2013 . He is also involved as a member of the Grindelwald Initiative, the person-centered help institute in Fulda , the care project for mentally ill children and adolescents in Germany and the World Psychiatric Association Congress. Wagner is also co-editor of the trade and association magazine Leuchtfeuer des LVPE RLP. In 2016 he co-founded NetzG eV (Federal Network Self-Help Mental Health) and was elected chairman of the “State Network Self-Help Mental Health in Rhineland-Palatinate” (NetzG-RLP eV) in 2017.
