Franz-Josef Wodopia

Franz-Josef Wodopia (born December 12, 1957 in Heidelberg ) is an economist and managing director of the Association of Coal Importers (VDKi eV) in Hamburg.

In 1981 he passed his diploma examination in economics at the University of Heidelberg, and in 1985 he received his doctorate. rer. pole. with the topic "Intertemporal production decisions - theory and application to the electricity industry".

In 1986 he started at the Gesamtverband Steinkohle (GVSt) in Essen , three years later he switched to IG BCE in Hanover , most recently as head of the mining and energy industry . On July 1st, 2005 he was appointed managing director, and on May 1st, 2006 he was appointed managing director of the GVSt in ( Herne ). Since January 1, 2016, he has been managing director of the Association of Coal Importers (VDKi e.V.) in Hamburg.

From 2000 to 2007 he was a full professor of economics for engineers at the TFH Georg Agricola in Bochum , after which he became an honorary professor there. At the TFH, Wodopia made a name for itself above all through the establishment of the master’s course in technical business administration there .
