Franz-Werner Jaenke (born April 4, 1905 in Sternberg ; † January 25, 1943 in Gumrak near Stalingrad ) was a German locksmith and member of the Reichstag for the NSDAP.

Life

After attending secondary school from 1911 to 1920, Jaenke learned the metalworking trade by 1924. From 1924 to 1925 he attended the technical college in Sternberg, but had to break off his studies for financial reasons. He passed the foreman examination in 1925 and the preliminary engineering examination in 1930.

Jaenke was politically active in the völkisch movement since 1923, and in 1925 he became a member of the NSDAP . In their Sturmabteilung (SA) he was appointed SA leader in Silesia and Mecklenburg in 1928 . From July 1932 in the rank of SA standard leader, he was in charge of SA standard 62 in Silesia until May 1937. He reached the high point of his SA career in January 1938 when he was promoted to SA brigade leader.

In July 1932 Jaenke was elected as a member of the Reichstag for constituency 8 (Liegnitz) . After leaving parliament in the following electoral period, he moved back to the Reichstag on the occasion of the Reichstag elections in March 1933 , which he subsequently belonged to until his death.

In June 1937 Jaenke moved to Hagen , where he took over the leadership of the local SA Standard 69. At the same time he was councilor of the city of Hagen.

From 1939 Jaenke took part in the Second World War, most recently as a lieutenant in the reserve in a tank destroyer division. He died in January 1943 during the final stages of the Battle of Stalingrad . The Supreme SA leadership was not yet aware of Jaenke's war death in June 1943: In that month they appointed him staff leader of the Westphalia SA group in Dortmund. Jaenke's seat in the Reichstag was not filled again until the end of the war.
