Franz Berger (born March 28, 1959 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian school director and politician ( ÖVP ). Berger has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament since 2008 .

education and profession

Berger attended elementary and secondary school in Lofer from 1965 to 1973, and between 1973 and 1978 he graduated from the Higher Federal College for Alpine Agriculture in Origin - Elixhausen . After graduating from high school in 1978, Berger attended the Agricultural Education Academy in Vienna - Ober Sankt Veit from 1979 to 1980 and passed the teaching qualification examination in 1983. Prior to this, Berger had already completed the state ski instructor training in Kaprun in 1980 , and between 1995 and 1996 he also completed training as a state fitness instructor in St. Johann in Tyrol .

From 1978 to 1981, Berger worked temporarily as a driver in his parents' company and then from 1980 to 1981 as a state ski instructor. After working as an agricultural specialist teacher at the Agricultural State College in St. Johann in Tirol between 1981 and 1996, he became Deputy Director in 1993 and has been Director of the Agricultural State College in St. Johann since 1996.

politics

Berger was involved as local chairman of the young ÖVP in Lofer from 1986 to 1989 and during this time was also local chairman of the ÖAAB Lofer. Between 1988 and 1989 he was also the district representative of the young ÖVP Pinzgau. After moving to Tyrol, he held the position of local party chairman for the Oberndorf community between 1991 and 1996 and has been a member of the Oberndorf local party leadership since 2003. He has also been the district chairman of “Forum Land” since 2002 and from 1986 to 1996 he was the staff representative for the Tyrolean agriculture teachers. Furthermore, Berger was a member of the state executive committee of the public service union (Section 27) from 1986 to 1996 .

Berger has represented the ÖVP in the Tyrolean state parliament since July 1, 2008 and is area spokesman for education and culture in the ÖVP state parliament club.

Private

Berger was a member of the parish council from 1990 to 2007 and chairman of the Oberndorf tennis club for four years. He has been a part-time musician since 1987 and has also been a songwriter since 2000. Musically, Berger has also been involved in the St. Johann men's choir since 1995.
