Franz Burger (painter)
Franz Burger (born May 30, 1857 in Windisch-Matrei ; † July 27, 1940 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian painter , draftsman, illustrator, restorer, poster designer and from 1897 professor at the state trade school in Innsbruck.
Life
The basic school education was followed by a visit to the state trade school in Innsbruck and his study and artist stay between 1880 and 1892. Lindenschmidt, Karl Raupp and Franz von Defregger were among his teachers . From 1897 to 1925 he worked as a teacher at the State Trade School in Innsbruck.
He was an employee of the Munich artist magazine Jugend .
Commissioned work
On behalf of Archduke Franz Ferdinand , he designed the battle picture "Speckbacher conquers the Sillbrücke on August 13, 1809" for the Neue Hofburg from 1905 to 1909

- 1888: From 1888 he designed the altarpiece in the Görtschach chapel near Dölsach
- 1894: Alpine village with a church village and a view of a mountain range in the evening sun .
- 1894: Two drawings about the unveiling of the Andreas Hofer memorial plaque at the "Schupfen" inn
- 1896: Participation in the painting of the giant circular painting in Innsbruck
