Franz Demmel (born July 20, 1970 in Bad Tölz ) is a former German ice hockey player who won the German championship with the Kölner Haien in 1995 .

Career

Demmel began his career at EC Bad Tölz , where he played in the first team from 1987, for which he played three games. During the 1988/89 season, the left shooter moved to North America in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League . There he was active for the Olympiques de Hull and the Verdun Junior Canadiens . At the end of the season he returned to his hometown Bad Tölz. He stayed at EC Bad Tölz until 1994. In the meantime, he also went on the ice for the Bayreuth Tigers during the 1993/94 season .

In the summer of 1994 he received a contract offer from the Kölner Haie, which he accepted and moved to the German Ice Hockey League . With the Haien he was able to win the German championship in his first season after 3-2 victories in the play-off final against EV Landshut . Demmel stayed with the sharks until 1997. During this time he took part in the European Hockey League with the club in the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons . There he was used a total of seven times and scored no scorer point .

In 1997 the offensive player returned to Bad Tölz, with whom he was continuously active in the 2nd Bundesliga until 2004 . In 2004 Franz Demmel ended his active ice hockey career.
