Franz Einzinger

Franz Einzinger (born April 26, 1952 in Engelmannsbrunn , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian lawyer. He has been Head of Section I (Presidium) in the Federal Ministry of the Interior since 2003 . Since January 1, 2011 he has also been responsible for “departmental strategic policy issues and coordination of departmental strategy”.

Life

Einzinger graduated in 1971 leaving examination at Piaristengymnasium in Krems , studied law at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate on 25 January 1978. Dr. iur. Immediately afterwards, he completed his legal practice in Krems and Kirchberg am Wagram . On July 1, 1978, he was accepted into the service of the Vienna Federal Police Directorate as a police lawyer . He worked in the district police commissioners in Meidling, Mariahilf and Favoriten and was assigned to the Federal Ministry of the Interior on March 1, 1982, where he worked in human resources (Department I / 1). On July 9, 1990, he was appointed head of department I / 1 (personnel matters) and on December 1, 2000, he was appointed head of group I / A (personnel, organization, training).

Since January 1, 2003, he has headed the entire Section I. His responsibilities include personnel, organization, budget, training and further education (Security Academy), chief medical officer, security policy, international affairs, protocol and public relations. The head of Section I is the highest service authority for all approx. 32,000 employees in the interior department and coordinates the entire department budget.
