Franz Eng

Franz Eng (born July 19, 1928 in Olten ; resident in Stüsslingen ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Life

Eng visited the college in Schwyz and then studied at the University of Bern right where it 1956 to the Dr. iur. PhD. From 1965 he worked as a business lawyer with his own office in Solothurn . From 1964 to 1977 Eng was mayor in Günsberg and from 1965 to 1973 he belonged to the Solothurn cantonal parliament of. From 1971 to 1987 he sat in the National Council , which he presided over in 1983 . In addition to his work as head of the FDP parliamentary group, he sat on various commissions, including finance, business auditing, foreign trade and transport.

In 1990, in the context of the file affair, Eng was the special representative for the inspection of the 4900 files of the EMD . From 1976 to 1990 he was President of the Swiss Association of Licensed Automobile Companies and from 1977 to 1984 of the Public Transport Interest Group . He also sat on the board of directors of various companies, including AEK Energie , Ascom and Atel Holding .

Eng has been an honorary citizen of the Günsberg community since 1983. He is the father of the Solothurn state clerk and former Cantonal Councilor Andreas Eng .
