Franz Ferdinand Eiffe (born November 24, 1860 in Hamburg ; † November 4, 1941 there ) was a Hamburg merchant and member of parliament.

Life

Eiffes father was the Senator Franz Ferdinand Eiffe (1825-1875) his mother Susan Godeffroy (1833-1871). Eiffe was an orphan at the age of 14. After attending school, he did a commercial apprenticeship and later founded the import and export company FF Eiffe & Co. Eiffe was a businessman in southern Africa , he was actively involved in trying to find a port for the Burian Republic of Transvaal near Lourenço Marques in the Portuguese colony of Mozambique .

From 1904 to 1918 Eiffe belonged to the Hamburg citizenship . From 1904 to 1928 he was a member of the deputation for trade, shipping and industry.

From 1915 to 1916 Eiffe was head of the German medical mission in the Kingdom of Bulgaria .

Eiffe, who co-founded the “Committee for Running” in Hamburg in 1880 and demonstrated his athletic achievements there himself, later became an honorary member of the Hamburg football club from 1888 .
