Franz Glas

Franz Glas (born October 31, 1865 in Klagenfurt , † July 28, 1944 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician .

Life

The son of a Court of Appeal Council , studied glasses after visiting the high schools in Klagenfurt and Graz Law in Graz. During his studies in 1883 he became a member of the Cheruskia Graz fraternity . In 1889 he was promoted to Dr. iur. doctorate and after several positions in 1896 came to the district court of Pettau , whose head he was from 1900. In 1908 he became a regional judge and in 1910 went to the higher regional court in Graz , where he became higher regional judge in 1914. In 1919 he became court advisor and in 1922 chairman of the senate of the Graz Higher Regional Court. He became its director in 1927 and later its president. After retiring in 1930, he was State Secretary of Justice in the Dollfuss II government from 1933 to 1934 . At the time of the corporate state he was a member of the State Council from 1934 to 1938 . From 1938 he was a member of the NSDAP , which he had previously wanted to anchor as a representative of the German Club and the German Social People's Association in Austria.
