Franz Gratzer

Franz Gratzer (born January 28, 1952 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs ; † May 3, 2013 in Amstetten ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Gratzer was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 2003 to 2013 .

Life

After elementary school, Gratzer attended a secondary school and subsequently completed a higher technical college (HTL), which he completed with the Matura . He worked as a technician in Munich and at the Umdasch / DOKA company in Amstetten . Afterwards he was a buyer at IFE AG in Waidhofen an der Ybbs and in 1984 became a workshop teacher at the HTBLuVA in Waidhofen an der Ybbs.

politics

Gratzer was initially politically active in the socialist youth in Hollenstein an der Ybbs and was active as an employee works council and staff representative. In 1978 he moved into the local council of Hollenstein, became deputy mayor in 1989 and was mayor from 1996 to 2013. In the Ybbstal region , he worked intensively to the end for the continued existence of the Ybbstalbahn . He represented the SPÖ from April 24, 2003 to April 23, 2013 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.

Private

He lived in Hollenstein an der Ybbs , where he was also mayor. He was married and had two sons and a daughter. Gratzer died as a result of a fall.
