Franz Hirschfeld (born May 15, 1868 in Cottbus , † November 15, 1924 ) was a German poet and dramatist . Hirschfeld also wrote under the pseudonym Franz Röhr .

Life

Franz Hirschfeld, born in Cottbus in May 1868, spent his childhood in Cottbus and Peitz . Since 1895 he lived as a tax officer in Forst. Most recently he worked as an insurance and bank director at the Brandenburgische Girozentrale in Berlin. As city councilor a. D. in Brandenburg an der Havel he had published various literary works during his lifetime, including the two plays Um Geld (1891) and Künstlerliebe (1895) under the pseudonym Franz Röhr . In 1911 the play Der Frechdachs appeared under his birth name . A year later the book The 500-year Hohenzollern Jubelfeier in Brandenburg an der Havel was published. In 1923, Hirschfeld published the volume of short stories Elektra . The volume of poetry Des Lebens Kreis was published at the end of November 1924 by the writer friend Karl Knaust in the Verlag der Turmwartgemeinde in Hermsdorf near Berlin with 76 poems. Since Hirschfeld died on November 15, 1924 at the age of 56, he did not live to see the publication of his book.
