Franz Hermann Theodor Hofmann (born February 26, 1852 in Stötteritz , † November 4, 1903 in Chemnitz ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( SPD ).

Live and act

Hofmann attended elementary school in Stötteritz from 1858 to 1866 . From 1866 to 1886 he worked as a cigar worker. From the 1870s until his expulsion from the Leipzig banned district on October 12, 1886, he was active as a party and trade union official in Leipzig. Since he couldn't find work anywhere as a deportee, he went to Chemnitz in Jakobstr. 23 self-employed as a cigar manufacturer.

On March 15, 1892, he was elected to the Reichstag as the successor to the resigned deputy Carl Kurtz in the 22nd Saxon constituency ( Auerbach - Reichenbach ) . In the following elections to the Reichstag, he also obtained a mandate in the constituency and was a member of the Reichstag until his death. He died on November 4, 1903, before the Reichstag was elected in 1903 and into which he was last elected.

From 1895 to 1901 he also represented the 31st rural constituency in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament .
