Franz Joseph Wagner

Franz Joseph Wagner (* 1886 in Wolmsdorf , Glatz district , Silesia province ; † May 3, 1972 , probably in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

After completing his training, Franz Joseph Wagner started his own business with a studio in Breslau . His works include landscape paintings, for which he was inspired above all by the landscape of the Glatzer snow mountains , from which he came. Many of his motifs come from the vicinity of Habelschwerdt , Bad Landeck and Wilhelmsthal . In addition, he created several realistic portraits of villagers. The graphics he created appeared in part in the two-month publication Die Grafschaft Glatz , which was published by the Glatzer Mountain Association . After losing his home after World War II , Wagner settled in Berlin.

In the exhibition "Grafika i malarstwo pejzażowe na Ziemi Kłodzkiej w XX stuleciu" ( graphics and landscape painting of the 20th century Glatzer country ), the 1999 (from Muzeum Ziemi Kłodzkiej the Glatzer Landesmuseum ) in Glatz was held, landscape paintings and prints by were Wagner exhibited.
