Franz Ludwig von Zinzendorf

Franz Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf and Pottendorf (* 23. March 1661 ; † 17th July 1742 in Karlstetten ) was an Austrian general and garrison commander at Spielberg .

biography

Zinzendorf was a son of Ferdinand von Zinzendorf from his third marriage to Rebecca Regina Freiin Gienger von Grienpichel .

Zinzendorf fought its first battles under Sigbert Heister against the Turks and French. In 1696 he was appointed titular court war councilor and in 1704 promoted to colonel. 1706 Zinzendorf belonged to the imperial delegation, which on behalf of Joseph I with Karl XII. negotiated because of the Altranstadt Convention . In 1709 he participated in the execution recession. In 1712 he was appointed hatcher and satellite captain. Between 1715 and 1717 Zinzendorf held the position of chief steward of the Archduchess Maria Josepha .

In 1717 he was appointed commanding general in Moravia and at the same time in command of the Spielberg fortress . In 1724 Zinzendorf was promoted to field marshal lieutenant. In 1741 he retired at an advanced age.

After his mother's death, he inherited her dominion in Wasserburg and, from the Montecuccoli estate in 1738 , he inherited the Enzersfeld Fideikommiss . From 1728 he was also the owner of the Toppel and Karlstetten lords , which he had bought from the Counts of Lassberg. Zinzendorf was friends with the alchemist Hulderzopf.

He was married to Maria Theresia von Auersberg . The marriage remained childless.
