Enzersfeld im Weinviertel is a market town with 1748 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Korneuburg district in Lower Austria .

Enzersfeld is located in the Weinviertel in Lower Austria, east of Korneuburg . The area of ​​the municipality covers 9.84 km². 4% of the area is forested.

Community structure

The municipality includes the following two localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

  • Enzersfeld in the Weinviertel (1102)
  • Königsbrunn in the Weinviertel (646) including Brennleiten

The community consists of the cadastral communities Enzersfeld and Königsbrunn.

history

The independent communities of Enzersfeld and Königsbrunn merged on January 1, 1970 to form the large community of Enzersfeld.

Since 2006, Enzersfeld has been a member of the regional development association 10 vor Wien . With a resolution of the municipal council in January 2009, the name of the municipality was changed to Enzersfeld in the Weinviertel.

Population development

The area around Vienna has the largest population growth in Austria. This growth will continue for the next few decades. Enzersfeld had a negative birth balance for the past three decades. The migration balance, on the other hand, was +254 people from 1981 to 1991, +121 from 1991 to 2001 and +189 in the following ten years.
