Franz Neuländtner (born January 29, 1966 in Höhnhart ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Career

Franz Neuländtner recorded his first participation in the Ski Jumping World Cup in 1983 when he started the national group as part of the Four Hills Tournament at the competitions in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen . However, Neuländtner's breakthrough in the A-squad of the Austrian national team was not made until December 1984 at the competition in Lake Placid , where he was 13th on the large hill and was able to score his first World Cup counter. Also in Lake Placid, but on the neighboring normal hill, Neuländtner celebrated his first World Cup victory on December 15, 1985, was now finally in the top of the world and was able to achieve second place in the overall standings at the following Four Hills Tournament .

At the ski flying world championship in 1986 at the Kulm in Tauplitz / Bad Mitterndorf , Neuländtner became vice world champion and only had to admit defeat to his compatriot Andreas Felder . A year later he won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf .

After a tough season, Franz Neuländtner surprisingly achieved his second World Cup victory on March 3, 1990 in Lahti, Finland, at the competition on the large hill.

Neuländtner competed in his last competition in January 1993 with ski flying on the Kulm . After Franz Neuländtner had been spared serious injuries during his active career, a broken collarbone meant the end of his career.

Including his two victories, Neuländtner achieved 22 top ten placements in the World Cup in his active career.

After the end of his active career, Franz Neuländtner learned the trade of ski manufacturer at Fischer Sports GmbH , from then on worked as a service man and in this role looked after Andreas Goldberger and Sven Hannawald, among others . Neuländtner is also currently active in the role of the person responsible for jumping at Fischer.
