Jeb Corliss Ray (* 25. March 1976 near Santa Fe, New Mexico) is a professional BASE jumpers , wingsuit -Pilot, extreme sports and television presenter .

In the documentary The Ground is the Limit , which Corliss shot with Iiro Seppänen at Howick Falls in South Africa , the reason for Corliss' accident is given that air currents drove him into the waterfall shortly after he jumped. The result was severe spinal injuries and multiple other bone fractures.

In October 2003, when Dwain Weston and Jeb Corliss tried to cross the Royal Gorge Bridge with wingsuits over and under, Dwain Weston had a fatal accident, who was supposed to cross the bridge, but collided with a handrail.

On April 27, 2006, Corliss attempted to jump from the Empire State Building . He was not recognized in disguise. After putting on a parachute, helmet and camera on the 86th floor, he climbed over the barrier, but was then held by security guards. He was sentenced to 3 years probation and 100 hours of community service, but was acquitted on appeal. The court stated that Corliss was experienced and careful enough to perform the base jump without endangering his own life or that of others. He was later banned from entering the Empire State Building.

In 2011 Jeb Corliss published the video Grinding The Crack , in which he flies into the depths with a wingsuit from a mountain range ( Hinterrugg , summit of the Churfirsten range , St. Galler Oberland, Canton St. Gallen, Switzerland). At the edge of the Schattenloch Gorge, it is less than two meters from the ground contact.

In 2011, Jeb Corliss and Roberta Mancino share a passion for proximity wingsuit flying, the approach flight to objects.

On January 16, 2012, Corliss jumped in a wingsuit from the edge of Table Mountain near Cape Town . In flight he brushed the edge of a rock with his legs. He survived with broken ankles and other injuries to his legs.

Corliss planned to be the first person to land in a wingsuit from a great height, without a parachute and unharmed on a fall arrest runway.
