Franz Rosenberger (born October 1, 1928 in Vienna ; † March 3, 1986 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Franz Rosenberger, classified by the National Socialists as a "racial mixed race", had to leave the secondary school in 1943 , initially served as an anti-aircraft helper and was transferred to the Ostwall in the last months of the war , from where he deserted. After the war, Rosenberger attended vocational school and learned the profession of typesetter .

Rosenberger was politically committed to the Socialist Youth in the Vienna district of Hietzing , was initially an education officer and in 1954 was elected to the district executive of his party, the SPÖ. In 1961 Rosenberger became secretary in the party-affiliated academy, in which in 1963 he took over the "Political Training" department.

In 1969 Rosenberger was elected chairman of the SPÖ district party for Hietzing. In the same year he moved into the Vienna state parliament and local council as a member of the SPÖ . In November 1973 he was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council, which Rosenberger was to belong to until September 1976. He then moved again to the Vienna City Council, in which Rosenberger was represented until his death in March 1986.

Rosenberger was buried in the cemetery of the Simmering fire hall (Department 1, Ring 1, Group 4, number 129). Today the residential complex at Lainzer Strasse 109–117 in Vienna bears the name Franz-Rosenberger-Hof .
