Franz Rosenstingl

Franz Sebastian Rosenstingl (* 1702 in Vienna ; † June 8, 1785 ) was a Viennese architect and painter .

Life

Rosenstingl studied in Vienna. From 1728 he worked for Melk Abbey , where he initially designed the gardens. For the monastery he created side altar paintings , four top views and the frescoes . In 1756 he made a design for the dome of the Servitenkirche in Vienna, 1765–1770 he built the new Gumpendorfer parish church .

Rosenstingl was a professor of civil architecture . In 1733 he received the first prize of the kuk Technical Military Academy for the design of a triumphal gate.
