Franz Sales Blaas

Franz Sales Blaas OPraem (born March 3, 1817 in Langtaufers ; † January 12, 1888 ) was prelate and infuled abbot of Wilten Abbey from 1877 to 1888 , kuk council and hereditary court chaplain of Tyrol .

Life

After graduating from high school, Franz Sales Blaas entered the Premonstratensian Monastery of Wilten on September 19, 1839, made his profession on August 10, 1841 and was ordained a priest on July 31, 1842. He was initially a cooperator at various pastoral care positions, then curate in Völs and pastor in Hötting and Mutters . Elected prelate (abbot) on January 10, 1877, he was designated on January 28 of the same year.

He turned down the honorary post of governor of Tyrol in order to live only for his pen. He died on January 12, 1888.
