Langtaufers
Langtaufers ( Italian Vallelunga ) is a fraction of the municipality of Graun im Vinschgau in South Tyrol ( Italy ) consisting of several hamlets and farmsteads .
geography
Langtaufers is located in the Langtaufer valley , which flows into the Vinschgau near the village of Graun . At the end of the valley are the glaciers of the Ötztal Alps and the high peaks of the Weißkugel ( 3739 m ) and the Weißseespitze ( 3526 m ). Fed by the water of the glacier area, the Karlinbach flows through the valley and flows into the Reschensee near Graun . The lowest farm in Langtaufers is at 1500 m , the highest all year round inhabited place in Langtaufers is the hamlet of Melag at 1915 m . On the north side is the border to North Tyrol .

Sports
The small ski area Maseben , which was closed in 2014, was located in Langtaufers, with a chair lift, drag lift and a ski hut. There are several cross-country skiing events and dog sled races in the valley every year .
