Franz Schwerdtfeger

Franz Otto Friedrich Schwerdtfeger (born March 11, 1898 in Myslowitz , Katowitz district , Upper Silesia , † October 25, 1961 in Kassel ) was a German engineer and university professor .

Life

Schwerdtfeger was initially an assistant at the Institute for Manufacturing Processes and Machine Tools at the Technical University of Breslau from 1923 to 1929 . During this time he graduated as an engineer in 1928 in Breslau .

From 1930 to 1936 he was a production engineer at Siemens in Berlin-Siemensstadt . From 1936 to 1941 he was a senior engineer at the Technical University of Berlin . In 1941 he became an associate professor at the Technical University of Wroclaw and was finally appointed full professor there in 1944.

Since 1945/1946 Schwerdtfeger had a teaching position at the Technical University of Hanover , was honorary professor in 1949 and in 1955 full professor for work machines and factories at the TH Hanover.
