Franz Karl August Theodor Siechen (born April 2, 1846 in Berlin ; † September 24, 1913 there ) was a German entrepreneur and restaurateur in Berlin.

Life

Siechen was the son of the Berlin restaurateur Carl Siechen , who was also the editor of the satirical opposition paper Ewige Lampe , and who had opened a beer house with a restaurant in Berlin in 1845 and expanded it into the famous Siechen beer house , and his wife Luise Dümmler. After his father's death, his son Franz took over the successful brewery company and made it world famous. In 1870 Siechen introduced the Nuremberg Reif beer (Brauhaus Nürnberg JG Reif AG) in Berlin . In 1883 he moved the beer house to the new building at Behrenstrasse 23/24 . In this “Nuremberg-style” beer house, too, the greats of Berlin gathered at the artists 'regulars' table - as in the earlier pub and in the father's time.

The sick bank in Bad Kissingen

Like his younger brother Max, Franz Siechen had inherited his artistic talent from his father: he became an excellent violinist , brother Max (1850–1897), like his father, a good heroic tenor .

Siechen came to Bad Kissingen several times for a cure and supported the maintenance and care of the “ Ballinghains ” founded by the spa doctor Franz Anton von Balling at the time . In 1900, on the occasion of Balling's 100th birthday, the city thanked him for this by granting him honorary citizenship . At this point in time, Siechen was already on the list of honorary citizens as a private citizen . The stone “Infirmary Bank” he donated in 1900 still stands in the “Ballinghain” today.
