Franz Spögler

Franz Spögler (born January 5, 1927 in Lengmoos, Ritten municipality ) is a South Tyrolean politician and veterinarian.

Life

Spöglers parents were in the option issue 1939 Dableiber . Since 1938 he attended the Johanneum grammar school in Dorf Tirol , which closed in September 1943 due to the war. In October 1944 he was drafted into the "Brixen Police Regiment" and deployed on the Eastern Front in Silesia , where his unit was integrated into the 31st SS Volunteer Grenadier Division . After being captured by the Soviets, he returned to Italy with Italian military internees in October 1945 and completed his Abitur. From 1948 he studied veterinary medicine .

From 1964 to 1988, Spögler was a member of the South Tyrolean People's Party in the South Tyrolean state parliament and thus also in the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . From 1969 to 1989 he was a member of the South Tyrolean provincial government and as a provincial councilor in the Magnago III , Magnago IV , Magnago V and Magnago VI cabinets , he was responsible for tourism, craft and sport. He then acted as President of the Südtiroler Sparkasse from 1989 to 1998 .
