Franz Stettner (born October 6, 1931 in Aachen ; † May 19, 2012 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Stettner attended grammar school and after graduating from high school worked in the public higher service. From 1951 to 1960 he worked for the city administration of Aachen and then at the Technical University of Aachen . In 1951 he joined the CDU. From 1953 to 1954 and again from 1956 to 1960 he was district spokesman for the Junge Union in Aachen. From 1953 to 1962 in the administrative district of Aachen. From 1953 he was on the district executive committee of the CDU Aachen. From 1961 he was councilor of the city of Aachen and from 1969 mayor. From 1964 to 1966 he was a member of the Rhineland Regional Council . From July 24, 1966 to May 27, 1975, Stettner was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1977 to 1999 he was director of the Aachen zoo .

Franz Stettner found his final resting place in the hot mountain cemetery in Burtscheid / Aachen .
