Franz Tscheck

Franz Tscheck (born on February 14, 1966 in Villach ) is an Austrian lighting designer who has been working at the Theater an der Wien since 1999 .

life and work

Tscheck attended sports secondary school in Villach from 1976 to 1980 and graduated from sports high school Lerchenfeldstrasse in Klagenfurt in 1987 . Since 1985 he has worked at various stages, including the Carinthian Summer , the Vienna Chamber Opera and the Schönbrunn Palace Theater . In 1997 he was responsible for the lighting in Andrea Mellis ' EurOper production of Shakespeare's Winter Tale at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten . During the Steirischer Herbst 1999 he illuminated Stephen Sondheim's concept musical Into the Woods , the production was shown in Deutschlandsberg . Since 1999 he has been engaged in the Theater an der Wien .

In 2008 he was the lighting designer for the EurOper production of Wolfgang Mitterer's Last Regards, Your Tormann . In 2011 he was involved in the world premiere of Vogel Herzog Idiot of the Sirene Opera Theater in the Theater an der Wien. In 2014 he designed the lighting for the celebrated production of Mozart's La clemenza di Tito with the Bach Consort in the Vienna Chamber Opera, the branch of the Theater an der Wien.
