Franz Victor Effinger
Franz Victor Effinger (born May 22, 1734 in Wildegg ; † December 24, 1815 in Bern ) was a Swiss magistrate and historian.
Franz Victor was the son of Johann Bernhard Effinger (1701 - 1772) and Maria Katharina von Diesbach († 1761). His brother was Niklaus Albrecht Effinger. He was married to Henriette von Wattenwyl . He was trained by private tutors and at the Academy in Lausanne. He then went on a grand tour . From 1775 he was a member of the Bernese Grand Council, from 1778 to 1784 Schultheiss von Büren an der Aare , 1788 a member of the Small Council. In 1811 Effinger was one of the founders of the Swiss History Research Society . He was a member of the Economic Society in Bern and its Aarau branch. Effinger owned the Wingreis vineyard on Lake Biel.
In 1784, the city council of Büren presented Effinger with an organ music box from the workshop of Pierre Jaquet-Droz out of gratitude .
