Franz Viktor Augustin von Roll von Emmenholz (baptized May 6, 1700 in Solothurn ; † June 8, 1773 ibid) was a Swiss politician .

Von Roll was Catholic and von Solothurn. He was the son of Johann Georg, a captain, and Maria Jakobea Reding von Biberegg, and the grandson of Johann Ludwig von Roll von Emmenholz . In 1728 he married Johanna Margaretha Viktoria Besenval, daughter of Peter Joseph Besenval . From 1720 he did pay service in France. In 1726 he became a Grand Councilor in Solothurn. From 1728 to 1732 he was an interpreter for the French Ambassade . 1732 he was Jungrat , 1743 Altrat and Seckelmeister and 1748 Venner . From 1759 to 1773 von Roll was Solothurn mayor . From 1747 to 1768 (until his stroke) he was a regular delegate to the parliament . In Solothurn, Roll, who owned by far the greatest fortune, was the head of the French party . In 1749 he bought the rule and castle of Hilfikon , where he had a new chapel built and richly decorated. He set up several church foundations and exchanged letters with various federal politicians. From 1746 he was knight of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
