Franz Werner Tamm
Franz Werner Tamm (* 1658 in Hamburg ; † 1724 in Vienna ) was a German painter of the Baroque period.
Life
In 1695 Leopold I appointed Franz Werner Tamm, who was born in Hamburg, to the Viennese court as court painter. In Vienna he became the leading exponent of still life painting (flowers, fruits, animals) with a great influence on this genre in the 18th century.
The collection of the Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna and the Belvedere in Vienna contain pictures by Franz Werner Tamm. There is a high altar painting by Franz Werner Tamm in the Schlierbach collegiate church .
