Franz Wichelhaus (born December 13, 1924 in Dorsten , † November 5, 1993 in Mönchengladbach ) was a German football player . From 1949 to 1957, the defensive player played a total of 180 league games and scored five goals in what was then the first-class football league West .

career

Wichelhaus made his debut on September 25, 1949 in the away game of STV Horst-Emscher at Rot-Weiss Essen in the Oberliga West. He played in the World Cup system at that time in the 3-1 success of the "Emscher Hussars" right defender and thus had to do with the RWE left winger Bernhard Termath in most of the duels . At the end of the round, Horst-Emscher finished fourth and was able to take part in the final round of the German soccer championship. The last game in the league was played by the mostly active player on February 24, 1957 in a 2-2 home draw against SV Sodingen. Wichelhaus played 95 league games for Borussia from 1953 to 1957. He ran a dental practice in Mönchengladbach and felt at home in the Lower Rhine region.
