Franz Wilhelm von Gottberg

Franz Wilhelm von Gottberg (born November 28, 1824 in Starnitz , Stolp district , † September 21, 1869 in Misdroy ) was the dike captain of the Oderbruch.

Life

Gottberg came from the Pomeranian noble family von Gottberg . During his studies in Königsberg, Heidelberg and Greifswald he became a member of the Corpslandsmannschaft Normannia (1845) and the Corps Saxo-Borussia (1846), Helvetia Heidelberg (1847) and Pomerania (1849). Pomerania elected him an honorary member. He was government councilor and commissioner for the introduction of a joint dike statute and new dike roles in the Oderbruch . By royal order of May 1, 1863 he was on July 1 d. J. appointed interim dike captain. In October 1863 the government in Frankfurt appointed Gottberg state commissioner for the Zehden drainage corporation .
