Franz Xaver Schmid (pastor)

Franz Xaver Schmid (born August 17, 1800 in Hengersberg ; † June 28, 1871 in Traunstein ) was a Catholic pastor and member of the Patriot Party in the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies .

Life

Franz Xaver Schmid studied in Landshut . In 1823 he was ordained a priest and in 1828 he became subregious in the newly founded clerical seminary in Passau. In 1833 he became professor for practical theology at the Royal Lyceum Passau . In 1834 he became pastor and dean in Otterskirchen. After 7 years he became cathedral priest and cathedral chapter in Passau. In the 13th Landtag ( 7th electoral term ), 14th Landtag ( 8th electoral term ), 15th Landtag (8th electoral term) and in the 16th Landtag (8th electoral term) of the Chamber of Deputies , he was appointed as a member for the constituency Wb. Passau / Ndb elected. In 1852, after disagreements with Bishop Heinrich von Hofstätter, he left the cathedral chapter and became parish priest in Traunstein. From 1859 to 1861 he was a member of the 19th state parliament ( 10th electoral term ) and 20th state parliament (10th electoral term). In the 23rd state parliament ( 12th electoral term ) and 24th state parliament ( 13th electoral term ) he was a member from 1869 to 1871. On September 21, 1869 and 1870–1871 he was the age president . On January 30, 1871, his resignation was approved by the Chamber of Deputies for health reasons and his successor was Balthasar Daller .
