Franz Yang-Mocnik
Franz Yang-Močnik , also Franz Motschnig Yang (born June 1, 1951 in Völkermarkt ) is an Austrian visual artist.
Career
After an apprenticeship as a carpenter (1965–1968) in Völkermarkt and subsequent practice as a journeyman carpenter in Klagenfurt , he attended a course in wood construction in the industrial sector at the HTBL Ortweinplatz building school in Graz in 1970 . From 1970 to 1973 Franz Motschnig attended the master school for painting with Franz Rogler at the same school. From 1971 to 1980 he was a technical assistant to Wolfgang von Schaukal and also took private lessons in art history with him.
1974 followed a stay in the USA in Spokane at the Expo 74. 1975 participation in the 10th International Symposium for Painting in Styrian Autumn . In 1976 a study trip to Rome and Sicily followed, sponsored by the Styrian state government and the Instituto Dante Alighieri, and in 1977 a grant from the Federal Ministry for Education and Art. 2005 visiting professor at the University of Innsbruck at the Studio for Experimental Architecture.
