Franz Zistl

Franz Zistl (born June 20, 1936 in Munich ; † April 28, 2010 there ) was a German anesthetist .

Life

Zistl was born as the third son of the country doctors Franz Zistl and Rosa Zistl. After graduating on June 26, 1954, he studied medicine at the University of Munich and the University of Vienna . Zistl completed his studies in 1961 at the University of Munich with the state examination. This was followed by specialist training in anesthesia at the municipal district hospital on the right of the Isar , which was completed in 1968. Zistl received his doctorate in 1969 from the Technical University of Munich .

From 1970 until his retirement at the end of June 2001, Zistl worked as chief physician in the anesthesia department of the Freising-Moosburg district hospital (now the Freising Clinic ).

In 1971, Zistl, together with medical colleagues and employees of the Bavarian Red Cross , initiated the equipping of a large ambulance with appropriate medical equipment. This was a pilot project in the rescue service that was later adopted throughout Bavaria.

This was followed in 1973 by setting up an own blood bank and an independent blood donation service in the Freising district hospital and in 1974 a dialysis station financed with donations .

In 2003, he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his personal commitment to the common good . He and his wife Johanna had two children (Ulrich, born September 25, 1965 and Barbara, born March 5, 1967).
