Franziskus Örnestedt

Franziskus Örnestedt , also Fransiscus , Frantz , Frans or Frans Joel , (* 1624 in Pomerania as Franziskus Joel ; † July 28, 1685 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish politician, diplomat and court chancellor.

Life

Franziskus Joel was the older son of Franziskus Joel (1595–1631), court and personal medicus of the Pomeranian Duke Philipp Julius , and Hedwig Heun, daughter of the Wolgast court pharmacist Joachim Heun. His younger brother was Philipp Joachim Örnestedt (1625–1682).

After studying and traveling abroad he was first secretary at the Pomeranian Chamber and later trainee lawyer at the Wismar Tribunal . In 1656 he became royal secretary in Stockholm. On January 10, 1660 he was raised to the Swedish nobility with the name Örnestedt . In 1663 he bought from Peter Julius Coyet the Skottorp Castle . In 1665 he became State Secretary and in 1674 Chancellery. He kept the minutes of the negotiations with the French ambassador Isaac de Pas, Marquis de Feuquières on July 14th . / March 24, 1674 greg. . In 1677 he was appointed temporary court chancellor. He was particularly favored by King Charles XI. who sent him to the Lund peace negotiations in 1679 as one of the ambassadors .

From 1680 he was Häradshövding in Trögds , Håbo and Lagunda as well as Nora , Lindes , Gryhytte and Nya Kopparberg . After the death of the Imperial Councilor and Chancellor Johan Göransson Gyllenstierna , the King sent him to negotiate with the Danish Minister Jens Juel about the agreement to marry the Danish Princess Ulrike Eleonore . On May 6, 1680, the king celebrated the supplement at Örnestedt's castle. In the same year he became full court chancellor.

He died in 1685 after a long illness and was buried in the Riddarholmskyrkan in Stockholm.

family

From the marriage entered into in 1650 with Anna von der Deilen, daughter of the Wismar commercial councilor Heinrich von der Deilen, there was a son and six daughters:
