The women's network for peace e. V. , also FNF , is a non-profit association based in Bonn.
History of origin
The women's network for peace e. V. was founded in 1996 after the 4th United Nations World Women's Conference in Beijing / Huairu in Bonn.
Content focus
The association sees its purpose in the networking of women and peace politics networks and in their cooperation. One of the main concerns of the FNF is the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security" in Germany and worldwide. He is also working towards a culture of peace by organizing dispute settlement meetings at schools in Bonn and the surrounding area, and commemorates the work of the first female Nobel Peace Prize laureate Bertha von Suttner .
activities
One focus of the association is on events on women and peace issues. These include, for example, lectures by women from home and abroad who are committed to peace and the annual participation in the coordination group of the Bonn Peace Days since 2011.
The association is also active in peace policy in the AG Gender and Peace in the Federation for Social Defense and in the civil society "Alliance 1325".
Another focus is the memory work on the first female Nobel Peace Prize winner Bertha von Suttner, for example by initiating a memorial stele at Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz in Bonn.
Furthermore, the women's network for peace e. V. annual regional dispute settlement meetings in Bonn and the surrounding area.
Club structure
The board of the association consists of a chairperson and two deputies, two assessors and a treasurer.
