Emergence

Michael Schu and Jürgen Becker came up with the idea for the film in 2009. In total, more than 70 actors took part in the film without a fee, the production time ultimately amounted to one and a half years and more than 400 hours of shooting. In April 2010 a trailer was published on YouTube , the premiere of the finished film took place on October 15th in front of 1200 spectators in the Europahalle Trier . The film was then shown in the Broadway cinema in Trier from October 21st. Here it reached an audience of 7,000 within just three weeks. At this point in time, it was in second place overall in the five-year visitor statistics of the Trier cinema, even before the Harry Potter film adaptation. On December 9, 2010, the film was initially released on DVD with an edition of 5,000. Subsequently, with a total circulation of 23,000 DVDs by the end of January 2011, 16,000 DVDs had already been sold.
