Fred Radig (born January 17, 1965 in Güstrow ; † September 25, 2019 ) was a German handball player .

Fred Radig was a GDR junior national player and played for SC Empor Rostock . During a handball tournament in Munich in the fall of 1986, the 1.90-meter-tall left winger, along with Henry Blatter and Mario Wille, pulled away from the team. Despite the promise that the three would not be punished for their escape from the GDR if they returned, they stayed in Munich and joined the Bundesliga club MTSV Schwabing . In 1987 they moved together to THW Kiel , where Radig stayed until 1992. Later he played for TV Eitra .
