Freddy Söderberg (born November 8, 1984 ) is a Swedish football player . The striker has played in his career for Östers IF and Hammarby IF in Swedish professional football.

Career

Söderberg, who comes from Småland , started playing football in Bor near Bors SK in 1990 . There he went through the individual youth teams before he joined IFK Värnamo in 2002 . There he made his debut as a junior player in the third division Division 2 Östra Götaland and scored nine goals in his debut season. After another season as a regular player, he moved to Östers IF in the Superettan . There he played 29 season games in the 2004 season, but only played in two games the full length of the game. After another six months for the club, he moved to fourth division Myresjö IF on loan .

Söderberg returned to IFK Värnamo after the end of the 2005 season. In the third division Division 1 he scored 13 goals this season in his first season after returning, helping the club to stay up. In the 2007 season he proved to be more dangerous and was crowned top scorer with 23 goals this season. With that he had aroused the interest of a higher class again. In November of that year he signed a three-year contract with Hammarby IF in the Allsvenskan . At his new club, however, he did not get beyond the role of the substitute. While he had scored two goals in 16 games in his first season for the Stockholm club, he only got one goal of the season in the 2009 premier league season. He was only in eleven games in his 23 season appearances in the starting lineup and could not prevent relegation to the second division. After playing mainly for the cooperation partner Hammarby Talang FF in 2010 and having only played four appearances for Hammarby IF in the Superettan under coach Michael Borgqvist , he decided to leave the club at the beginning of September that year.

In January 2011 Söderberg returned to Östers IF, where he signed a two-year contract. At the club, he immediately distinguished himself as a regular goalscorer.
